Our logo has been thought through down to the smallest detail – Director of the 36th European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship
The logo of the 36th European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship came out very simple and concise. Everything in this symbol has been thought through down to the smallest detail and at the same time it very well describes the rhythmic gymnastics itself. This is what the Director of the 36th European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship Olga Danko said.
The symbol has been made in five colors of the Olympic rings. Such a color range indicates the deep connection of the rhythmic gymnastics with the Olympic movement. At the same time it reminds that the European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship “Kуiv-2020” will take place just two months before the Tokyo Olympics, and that the last Olympic licenses will be competed for namely in the Ukrainian capital.
4 rhythmic gymnastics pieces of apparatus can be recognized in the logo – hoop, clubs, ribbon and ball. Together, they make up a silhouette of a gymnast. Due to this, the symbol has turned out to be dynamic and sophisticated – as the sport itself.
The way of writing “KУIV 2020” in the logo has become symbolic. The letter “Y” in it has been stylized with an old Slavic letter “У”. Thus, the logo emphasizes the glorious history of Kyiv, and at the same time indicates the first letter in the name of Ukraine.
“At first glance, the logo seems very simple, but there is a lot of hidden meaning in it.
It is just the same as with the rhythmic gymnastics itself: this sport may seem easy to onlookers, but in fact it combines extraordinary willpower and endurance. It is namely these qualities that allow gymnasts to fight for the right to become a Champion,” Olga Danko emphasized.
